Effective tyre dia. to give true centre point steering = 35.7".
Actual effective tyre dia. in practice taken as 33".
Deviation in centre point due to this = .228".
Torque tending to deflect the steering when one wheel locked on a road, - load on front axle 22 cwts., co-efficient of friction .6" =
740 X .228 lbs.ft. / 12 = 14.1 lbs.ft.
PIVOT BACKWARD LEAN = 1º to vertical or 3/16" on std. springs in pivot length.
