Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards} 5/MH.{M. Huckerby} Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited. Derby. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Experimental Department. We have to acknowledge your letter of the 25th instant and trust you have now received the V.114 belt and that it proves to be suitable in length. With regard to the three-point fan drive which we have erected, we have completed a few hours running and find that the slip is appreciably higher than we obtained with the previous drive, except for this the test is proceeding satisfactorily. We are today fitting the spare fan in our possession as one blade of the previous fan fractured last night. We have another spare fan which you recently repaired after a blade fracture and we suppose this will be now satisfactory as the spare. The broken fan will be returned to you in the course of a day or so. We are enclosing herewith a front and back view of the present installation as this may be of some interest. Yours faithfully, FERODO LIMITED. V.{VIENNA} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Shilton Manager. Technical Department. Enc. | ||
