Re:- Mr. Geoffrey Vandervell.

As mentioned in a previous memo to-day, we have fixed up the above, the son of C. A.{Mr Adams} Vandervell, with a 4¼-litre Bentley. He is very anxious that the performance should be better than his Father's 4¼-litre, and he does not mind a certain amount of inconvenience if we would tune it up, or in other words fit a high compression head. I have tried to put him off this, so much so that he has agreed to accept a standard engine. In the meantime he has asked me to take the matter up with you, and find out whether we can tune up the engine at all for increased performance such as a high compression head.
