FROM IA/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WPR. WR. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL - IA/EVS/M29.6.32. X4552. BENSPORT CONTROLS, ETC. R.{Sir Henry Royce} has agreed verbally to the use of Bentley controls on the top of the column for Bensport, (and even suggested using Bentley pieces.) We are looking into this in conjunction with a spring steering wheel of 18.5" dia., a selling feature of a car of this type. We hope to use Peregrine ll. parts with Bentley type levers and case. He has also approved the Bentley mascot and medallion, both of which we can use unaltered. The medallion will appear in our radiator design, and is the one used on the 7-litre Bentley, and the mascot is made by W. Fray Ltd. of Birmingham, and of which you will have the drawing. R.{Sir Henry Royce} will not agree to the Bentley screwed filler cap to the petrol tank. The hinged one on Peregrine is certainly in keeping with present day demands. We can disguise it by modifying the shape of the cap externally, and by engraving a large 'B' on it, filled with black, as on some Bentley cars. This would make Bensport filler only differ from Peregrine ll. by one piece. IA/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
