The following points should be noted when carrying out tests:-

Do not apply sufficient effort to the pedal to lock the rear wheels as this stops the servo rotating and if any additional pressure is applied to the servo there can be no increase in the pull on the springs balance 'B'.

Release the pedal before the car comes to rest for the same reason as above.

The friction lining is of 'Halo' - do not allow this to become unduly hot because then we should expect a drop in the efficiency of the servo. This applies to tests carried out on the test rig.
