46153 a To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/KW. 8.9.34. 4-B-IV - Dropped Cross Member. Referring to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}12/E.7.9.34, confusion has arisen because there are two dropped cross members designed for the Bentley. Scheme 614 to which you refer in your memo. is fitted between the front dumb irons and is for appearance only. This has nothing to do with the member fitted between the lamps to stop wing movement - N.Sch.4124 to which you refer in Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}4/D.1.8.34. The cross member to Scheme 614 has run 10,000 miles as stated in my Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KW.26.7.34. In no specification of 4-B-IV has it been stated that N.Sch.4124 was fitted to the car. Ha/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
