Experiments have shown that the induction system has a marked bearing on this phenomenon. Confirmatory tests will be carried out on the test bed and on the road. The 4-cylinder is now suffering from this complaint as much as any other engine. 2 - PROPELLOR SHAFT EXTENSION. This will be brought up again at the next meeting. 3 - VALVE SPRING SURGE. This has been reported on by Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Wym. {G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} and appears to be due to a defective shaft on 9.B. Jnr. {Charles L. Jenner} has, however, designed some new springs which will be tried out if the trouble recurs. 4 - PETROL CONSUMPTION AND IDLING. Tests are still in progress. Customer's cars will be dealt with by adapting B.II jets and needles. A full report will be issued within the next few days. One point which definitely will have to be checked is the fact that the high power head does not seem happy on weak mixtures. 5 - SERVO GROANS. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /HH. has not received the memo which Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /MHR. {M. H. Rigby} wrote on the subject. Servo judders are one of the most persistent complaints on the B.V and therefore we should like Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /HH. to make the necessary drawings as soon as possible. | ||
