Chassis No. 4-B-IV. With reference to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}4/D.1.8.34, it is quite possible that it was said that the dropped cross member would be tested on 4-B-IV at the last Conference. The intention is still to send out this cross member when it is ready. We are not clear how you got the impression that the cross member was at present in France, since the car crossed over on the 10th July and on the 20th Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} remarked when writing on Fairey's car, referring to this cross member - "We have one instructed which we hope shortly to get on an experimental car". As we mentioned at the time, we think that the bump test is the most speedy way of proving the reliability of this component. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
