Bailey - Chief Engineer} Analysis of Bumping Tests. X. 1331. 10/6/14. We attach herewith an analysis showing the average life of parts broken on the bumping test, arranged so that the list starts with the weakest parts and terminates with the strongest. It is hardly necessary to point out that all the parts lasting less than 4 hours and many other parts lasting longer periods have been redesigned and strengthened up, and the list is interesting as showing the enormously extended length of time that the latest designs will stand out on the bumping tests compared with the earlier designs. p.
