LUCAS AMMETERS ON 20/25 CHASSIS.

You will remember that on the first two sample Smith instrument patches sent to us by Messrs. Smiths fitted with instruments, the ammeters were of a type such as is fitted to cheaper cars and Hillman Wizard etc.

Mr. Nicholls apologised for these instruments and they were only sent to us owing to the fact that the correct type of ammeters were not available. We should be glad if you will arrange with Messrs. Lucas to replace the two ammeters on these patches with the correct type which we are now purchasing from them for "U" series production. On receipt of these two ammeters we will arrange to remove the cheaper type from our chassis and send them back to Lucas in exchange.

The ammeters in question are giving trouble due to the erratic action of the needle and we wish to remove them from the chassis as soon as possible.
