4) Front Brakes.
Martindale
Off side jaw on equaliser bracket too tight owing to
being out of alignement? This prevented brake rod
returning correctly.
Slack in front brake rope was allowing brake levers to
return too much. The non positive action of the ball
connection of rod on the anchor plate allows the lever
to return too much and causes lost movement. This slack
has been taken up.

5) Steering.
We found nut of front side steering tube ball end, half
a turn loose. Is this taper shank correct ? The last car
had this same feature. The spring loading at the pendulum
lever end knocked. Investigation found both springs loose.
It states in the specification, springs reduced by approx-
imately .080 for adjustment. There is .200 left for
compression of springs. We have fitted washers .075 thick
to increase the initial load of the springs and increased
the set up on the ball .025.

LES '6) Off rear buffer pressing found burst, see sketch; welded up.

7) Checking up rear axle spring clips.

These jobs will be completed to-day.
