order to bring the bump buffer into action earlier.

Since production front springs are shorter than experimental springs, the following packings are required:-

2 off FB.3547 on the near side and
4 off FB.3547 on the off side.

This also takes care of the fact that the off side has considerably more weight on it due to the situation of the spare wheel and steering gear. The packings should be equally distributed between the top and bottom ends of the springs and should be placed between the canvas washer and the spring carrier in each case.

CLUTCH - The pedal should be set so that there is 1/4" of free movement of the pedal with the engine stationary.

PROPELLOR SHAFT - If this requires balancing it can be done by trial and error with a jubilee clip round the shaft. By jacking up the rear axle a trial setting can be found in the garage by moving the clip from end to end and round the shaft until the optimum position is found.

ELECTRICAL - The run of the main battery lead inside the frame should be modified as shewn on the accompanying sketch, Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}686. The entry of the cable into the starter main switch should be changed so that it is led straight in at the rear end instead of underneath.

BODY - The body crossmember at the front end of the rear tunnel is liable to sag, allowing the tunnel to foul the propellor shaft, so it should be packed up with a fairly hard block of rubber about 4" x 3" between the cross and the centre of the crossmember. The thickness will depend upon the individual bodies, but it should be sufficient to be held in position fore and aft by the cross member channel, and sideways by the rivets in the frame.

REV-COUNTER - Latest type cables should be fitted, which can be obtained from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}
