We must get some means of ventilating the 20HP bonnet that can beused more generally.

Item (10) Ignition Coils.

The improved design of ignition coil is giving satisfactory service on production cars and where changed on customer's cars. This coil should delete our present numerous complaints.

Item (11) Servo.

Depots are fitting the servo with cotton duck washers in place of lino to cure the complaints of inefficiency and grabbing. Expl. tests are being carried out using stainless driving pins to overcome sticking and rusting of dust. These will be incorporated if they prove satisfactory on test. We have also schemes of using a different friction material in hand to improve the consistency of the servo, these are purely in the expt. stage.

Item (12) Rear Axle Thrust.

With the results of N&C's investigations the improved Statz type of thrust race is to be incorporated in the F series of chassis. This will definitely lessen failures and complaints should be nil. In going over the troubles with the older axles, N&C is definite that it would be the best policy to change the thrust race completely when failures occur. W.W. have sent a scheme increasing the size of the thrust races to further improve the thrust race on future chassis. The scheme is not yet on test.

Item (13) Telemurcs.

We have not received any recurrent complaints after the fitting of the Head with the fused glass joint. The single line scheme is ready for testing and will be fitted to 27-EX.

Item (14) Propeller Shaft Joints.

With the attention paid by the Works to the joints we do not think the complaints will become serious. The Expl. Dept are trying out tests with spring loaded leather packings, results of which will be reported on later. We are looking into the question of an air vent to prevent damage to the leather packings when forcing oil in without taking out the release plug.

Item (15) Starter Motor.

The 25HP' starter motor is giving very little trouble but we have warned W.W. that it is now up to its limit of work and with the new engine, measures must be taken to make it sat-
