x7961 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Mr.Fairey's Bentley Car. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}1/E8.10.34 B.157-AE. Referring to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}15/E1.10.34 I confirm conversation on the telephone on Friday evening to the effect that we heard from his Secretary that he would be back to-day and would naturally expect to have his Bentley car available for him as it is a month since he first wrote us complaining about certain points. I understood that, if he had it back immediately, it would be without any modifications and, as we are very anxious that the trouble should be dealt with, we are telling him that it is not ready and that, if necessary, we will lend him one, but the real trouble with our standard cars is that owing to Fairey's stature he cannot sit with any degree of comfort. I understood that you expect to have the modifications completed by Thursday next and should be glad if you would let me know by return as it will be very awkward when Fairey is here not to be able to give him any definite information. The question of course arised in regard to the new car for him which is now being completed at the coachbuilders, as presumably that will have the same faults. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
