To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c. CJ. c. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} ORIGINAL EFC1/T29.11.22. X.1599 - RE J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} & P. RECTIFIER. Herewith please receive as requested full particulars of Johnson & Phillips rectifier for the purpose of charging 12 volt batteries on A.C. mains. Experimentally, a series of comparative tests between this and the B.T.H. Tungar rectifier have been carried out by Prof. Cramp at Birmingham University, and I believe the results of the test will be published. In the meanwhile, however, one would judge from the results so far as we have heard of them, that his own impression would be that the Johnson & Phillips converter is a more satisfactory apparatus, though of course it is impossible for him to give expression to such an opinion. Would it be worth while our obtaining one of these rectifiers for experiment so that we can definitely recommend its use to customers ? EFC. JAE.69698. 28th Nov. and Booklet att. | ||
