I understand it is now agreed by Sales and the RR. engineers that larger size tyres can be used, and recommended on all RR. cars now being produced, and it is necessary that the following points are included -

(1) Well damped axles by our hydraulic shock dampers on the front axle.

(2) Well damped steering pivots by the extra washers on the pivot pin thrust.

(3) Lower geared steering, either .720 in latest box, or .850 in original Phantom box, and .750 in original Goshawk box.

Any complaints of steering should be met by putting in one of these slower speed worms and nut.

I understand there are many complaints of Phantom and Goshawk Steering, and I recommend that we deal with them promptly and generously.

I also understand there are complaints of insufficient rigidity of steering column. These have been met by the use of the extra stay from dash to column (triangular), which should be made and stocked for back numbers of Goshawks or Phantoms.

HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} makes some error regarding 20HP.

Some public, or press, demonstration should be arranged.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
