Messrs. Joseph Lucas Ltd.,
Gt. King Street,
BIRMINGHAM.

Dear Sirs:-

We are much obliged by the receipt of your letter RLN/35 of yesterday, from which we note that Mr. Thacker will visit our Works at Derby early next week with a view to inspecting the experimental car on which we have mounted the car heater of American origin referred to in our earlier communications.

No doubt you will fix an appointment with our Mr. Hives before Mr. Thacker goes to Derby.

We note that you are of the opinion that future developments will make use of the heat from the exhaust. We have, of course, considered this but are not in favour of its use for many reasons.

No doubt, however, it is Mr. Thacker's intention to discuss the aspects of the problem when he goes to Derby, and our people there will be glad to explain their attitude toward the use of the exhaust heat.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.,
