A.{Mr Adams} Taub, Esq.,
Messrs. Vauxhall Motors Ltd.,
L U T O N.

Dear Mr. Taub,

Can you please hand this letter on to your rear axle engineer and persuade him to answer one or two questions about the axle of our 25 Vauxhall which we have just dismantled,

We found the steel cages in both differential thrust bearings broken and should be interested as engineers and not angry customers to know possible reasons for this. The mileage of the car is 4,000. When we rebuild the axle what amount of preload should these bearings have?

With regard to the pinion thrust bearing, how much preload or slack is provided and what is the angle of contact of the races?

What is your experience of the various E.P. oils obtainable in England?

Hoping you will not mind this catechism.

Yours sincerely,
