TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to - G.L Copy to - HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL SECRET. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C. THROTTLE GOVERNOR. X8140 We send herewith drawing LeC. 2034. shewing the permanent modification to the above. We have already arranged how existing governor cases should be modified. We are shewing a different spring on LeC. 2034. with the lower rating, but the same initial load in position. The original spring we understood was made to figures specified by the Exp. Dept. and the load started at .5 lbs. and went up to 2.75 lbs. The disadvantage of a spring made to these figures we think is that the initial deflection would be so small as to make the initial load very uncertain. We should therefore like to use the spring of lower rating on LeC. 2034. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will say whether this will do or whether an increase of load is desired with a lower rating spring. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
