BRAKES - PEREGRINE & BENSPORT.

X1287

We find that the 21º of rear brake adjustment shown on RR.sch.292 allows a wear of the linings at the shoe centre of .059. Whereas 5 notches of 6º each allows for .085 wear of the front brakes. We have approximately 50:50 braking on both these cars.

Will you therefore please arrange for the rear adjustment to be increased 1.44 times.

The discrepancy was brought home to us on Bensport in France all the rear adjustment being used up the front having a notch to spare.

Brake Pedal Peregrine.

A further modification we have carried out is to raise the pedal one notch on the adjustable stem the pedal then being 6.125 instead of 5.5 from the dashboard. We can then run longer between adjustments without the pedal reaching the boards.
