3.B.IV.

With regard to Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}2/KW1.9.38., we cannot, just at the moment, hand over 3.B.IV. It is being used for B.III Carburetter tests owing to the great shortage of B.III's.

As regards the car itself, the frame has done 98,000 miles, but the present wide dash wide entrance body only 44,000.

The engine is an 'M' Series type which has done 18,000 miles.

The gearbox, rear axle and radiator are 'M' Series type, that is to say the gearbox has an overdrive.

The non-standard features are:-

Girling Rear Brakes
Semi-centrifugal clutch
Experimental exhaust system, and some
Frame Stiffeners,
which latter can be removed.

The most expensive item which would have to be removed before the car is sold is the Girling rear brakes; to alter them to standard scraps a lot of parts of the axle.

We presume that when it is handed over for sale, the Repair Dept. will change the non-standard for up-to-date parts. It would then be an 'M' Series type car except for the steering which is a worm and nut and not a Marles.
