Limitation of Body Lengths.

Referring to the above question, we propose to specify on the coachbuilders chassis prints maximum lengths as in the following notes.

These notes should be added to the drawing with special reference to a dimension line from the centre of the rear axle to the tail of the body.

It is possible that in exceptional cases bodies may be built over and above the limit but for these we should say special concessions should be obtained. In our view it would be wrong to make a rule to include every possible body as it would then be hardly worth having.

Bentley Chassis Print.

Maximum length of body not to exceed 41" in the case of a tapered streamline tail, and not to exceed 35" in the case of a square boot, exclusive of the length added by the spare wheel carried at the rear, and whether the spare wheel is carried in this position or not.
When the spare wheel is located in the streamline tail it should be carried horizontally over the petrol tank as low down and as far forward as possible.

Phantom 2 Chassis Print.

Maximum length of body not to exceed 43.5" in the case of a tapered streamline tail and not to exceed 41" in the case of a square boot.
Spare wheels to be carried on the side wheel carrier in all cases.
