air silencer system. We should keep to our previous policy of allowing only minimum restriction to the inlet air at the carburetter, or balance the under side of the air valve, to the air intake bend. This would necessitate a new needle being developed.

Our future investigation could include the following :-

(1) Determine whether B.60 combustion chamber is worse than B.V. for firing weak mixtures.

(2) Evaluate the minimum size of pipe that can be used, for an allowable loss of max. road speed.

(3) Determine the gain from :-

(a) Suction ignition advance.
(b) Long reach plugs.
