X4552 To Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LC16.11.22. SCHRADER RIGHT-ANGLE CONNECTIONS. X.4552. With reference to the right-angle connections submitted by the Schrader people to enable the tyre pressure to be read when the pump is connected. These connections are made to screw on to the valve. We have now, for some time, been using a slip-on rubber connection at the valve. One of the big advantages with this is that the connection will fit any type of valve. Also, our experience shows that it is easier to make tight. We should be pleased if you will write to the Schrader people and ask them whether they make the right-angle connection with the slip-on rubber connection. If they do not make these, we shall have to see whether we can adapt one ourselves because we very much want to use the right-angle connection on the pump. We can see reasons why it may be difficult to use the slip-on rubber connection, in any case, we should like to have the Schrader people's views. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
