ORIGINAL RE WATER TEMPERATURE REGULATOR. X3563 (crossed out) X3695 40/50 H.P. CHASSIS. I send you herewith drawing No.Lec.1147 - general arrangement of pipes for water temperature regulator on 40/50 H.P. chassis. This drawing shews the manner in which the byepass pipe should be carried on the engine. You will note that it is stiffly secured by means of its connection to the water radiator tower and clip to the forward end of the water inlet pipe. It is then carried through a flexible rubber joint to the suction pipe of the water pump. In applying this system to an existing chassis the studs in the front cylinders which carry the forward end of the water inlet pipe can be lengthened to accommodate a suitable clip for holding the byepass pipe. This will avoid replacing the front fitting of the water inlet pipe. Owing to the very much decreased slope of the top water pipe, we have adopted a new position for the water connections to the cylinder jackets. These are now made to join on horizontally to Nos. 2 and 3 water outlets. This alteration is in fact an economy, as the large fittings at present used on the outlet pipe itself are replaced by two small bosses on to existing castings. X3695 Would you kindly instruct the material shewn on this scheme, the information for which we have now completed. Would you also, in accordance with Mr. Royce's wishes, kindly put in hand a scheme for the ignition wire carrier to suit (Contd.) | ||
