Referring to your note EFC4/T16.3.27, we are this morning in receipt of a letter from North & Sons Ltd. stating that on examining and testing the magneto above referred to, they found that same misfired due to the slip ring being broken. They add that the magneto has been dissembled since leaving their Works, but there was nothing to indicate the cause of the excessive end play on the armature as referred to in your note. They quote 31/- less 20% for thoroughly overhauling the magneto and replacing the slip ring and will return the same to us immediately the repairs are completed.
