X819 Ref. 91 (3) Re Floor Boards. X743 Mr. Spinney 8/12/11 YBB6/DL81211 Minute 3 of the 91st Meeting of the T.C. December 1st. "In reply to Mr. Johnson's note CJ5/T301011, that we fit gastight floorboards over the whole length of the chassis, Mr. Spinney had reported that this was impracticable but he advised the Committee that when writing this report he had understood Mr. Johnson to refer to our standard floorboards. The Committee agreed that Mr. Spinney should go into the matter according to Mr. Johnson's note. Mr. Spinney advised the Committee that he had rigged up a double floor board, but with unsatisfactory results. The slots cut in the floor board for the pedals rendered it very difficult to make this scheme work. He also advised the Committee that the experimental department had rigged up a temporary arrangement whereby the hot air from under the bonnet was allowed to escape. This would be tested next week, and would be reported at a later meeting. | ||
