| J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} for R.{Sir Henry Royce} 27.2.14. Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/G27214. With reference to your note R2/P19214 re new front anchorage and shackle for the rear spring, we have now instructed large washers and a special hexagon head bolt exactly similar to those shewn on your drawing Le C 97, and these will be bumped during the course of the experiment. I may say that this fixing has stood up on the bumping rig for over six hours and during that time has smashed two cross members and loosened another so that I do not think there is any real doubt as to its strength.
