the amount must not exceed 1/32" and the free movement at the
end of the cam operating lever must not be less than .4". It
is advisable to jack up the wheels and test if the brakes rub
when on full lock either way.

REAR BRAKES.

There is no alteration to these brakes from those on
the standard 40/50 RR. car, consequently, the setting up,
bedding etc. is the same as on the standard car.
For correct clearance of these, there should be .625"
movement at the end of the cam operating lever. The clearance
must not be less than this.
Rear pull ropes. There should be no slack, but the cam oper-
ating levers must be against their stops on the axle.
SERVO. This should be fitted up as shewn on the arrangement
drawing G.72550. It is arranged for the drum to float endways
on its ball races and it should do this freely. This end move-
ment is to allow the drum to accommodate itself to the friction
linings of the plates because the outer servo plate (to which
is attached the pull lever and operating studs) has no end
movement. This movement of the drum also provides for wear
of the friction lining. The inner servo plate is free to float
in the drum in a similar manner. This floating movement
should be quite free otherwise the efficiency will be reduced
and the plates may not separate under the action of the spring.
The 3 pins (G.72459) are to prevent the two plates
rotating independently of each other. These pins contd :-
