Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/ADS.7.32 contd. -2- We observe that the portion of the damper carrying the valve has been fouling the triangular leg of the axle control on J.III (Sketch Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}673). It appears that slightly more clearance is required at this point. The weights of the various are as follows :- R.R. 20/25 Rear - Split piston and C.I. end cover - F.57888. 9 lbs. 10 ozs. R.R. 20 HP. Rear - BZ/T Piston and A/P end cover - F.56649 8 lbs. 11 ozs. X R.R. J.III, N.Sch.3404, rear - F.58936 13 lbs. 5 ozs. Delco - Large (External leak control) 16 lbs. 3 ozs. " small " 10 lbs. 15 ozs. X This is at present fitted to Peregrine. The above figures do not include oil. The R.R. dampers are estimated to contain 3/4 pt. each which is equivalent to 11 1/2 ozs in weight.
