Bonnet finish quality and a complaint about defects from Messrs Barkers.

Referring to memo RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}4/WJ.16.9.37, in view of the fact that there are already a considerable number of people dealing with the question of finish of bonnets and as they are apparently all of the opinion that the finish of our bonnets is all that can reasonably be desired, we agree that there is no reason for the Experimental Dept. to concern itself with this matter.

We would, however, mention that the defects mentioned in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.2/MH.{M. Huckerby}8.9.37 were definitely not figments of imagination and presumably must have passed our 100% inspection, unless it is suspected that Messrs Barkers had deliberately manufactured them to support their complaints.
