We send you herewith the following drawings:-

Lec.1653 - Improved ignition coil in cooler position, and distributor moulding with side connection.

Lec.1656 - Ignition wiring carried on cylinder head.

Lec.1657 - Present coil in cooler position used in conjunction with new H.T. distributor moulding having side connection.

These three drawings give you the combinations of all possible modifications you may wish to make to future engines. We already have the scheme whereby the coil is retained in its present position, but heat and electrically insulated from the engine. Lec.1656 and 1657 now show how the present coil may be carried in a cooler position on the wheelcase, and in the case of the former drawing, used in conjunction with the present distributor by altering the ignition wire carrier tube to be supported from the cylinder head instead of the valve rocker cover. The alteration to the wiring is very desirable in connection with all schemes, as with the new proposal it is not necessary to disturb the ignition gear when adjusting valve tappet clearances.

The next move is to alter the H.T. distributor moulding as shown on Lec.1653 so that a short connection is obtained for the central H.T. lead to the coil, and it is no longer necessary to take this lead through the elbow above
