40/50 HP. CHASSIS - AUTOMATICALLY CONTROLLED DAMPERS.

We have arrived at the stage in the machining of P.2. material which compels us to make a decision(in order to have the material available for R.2.) as to whether we are going to fit the automatic control to the dampers or not. We are not, of course, speaking of the over-riding control, but of the automatic device driven from the gearbox for altering the pressure.

It will, of course, mean that a standardisation sheet will be required, which again will involve increased cost and bring Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} into the question from this point of view, so that it will not be possible to make the change hastily, and therefore it appears to me that we should order the first 50 in R.2. to the old type.
