the best equipped for doing the work. If the engine testing dept. has the best equipment in working order at the present time I agree that it would be better to transfer the test to Mr Platford, but if not I think the experimental dept. should do it.

What we want to find out is,-

(1) Whether we can obtain the same power from the spirit as from the spirit we are now using.

(2) Whether we can obtain the same horse power hours from it.

(3) Whether the engine will start as easily.

(4) Whether the engine will run slowly with it.
