Contd. -4- EFC9/T27.8.24. Of these,:- Sub-group A is with reference to battery ignition on 20 HP. chassis only, and contains:- (1) A curve obtained by calculation judged to be the nearest possible to the experimentally found requirements of the engine at the time. (2) The actual average representative curve of the automatic advance obtained on test. (3) Two dotted curves representing the limits given on the production test of this unit. This set of curves is already in existence but needs labelling and scales making uniform with those of other curves. Sub-group B1 is with reference to the earlier Scintilla magnetos, and contains :- (1) The actual average representative curve of the automatic advance (of the R.R. Battery Ignition Governor) obtained on test. (2) Advance curves of the two earlier AM-6-A type Scintilla magnetos (dotted). (3) Advance curve of the early AG-6- Scintilla magneto. (full). Sub-group B2 is with reference to the later Scintilla magnetos, and contains :- (1) The actual average representative curve of the automatic advance (of the R.R. Battery Ignition Governor) obtained on test. (2) Advance curves of the two later AM-6-A magnetos (full.) (3) Advance curves of the later AG-6-A Scintilla magneto (dotted). Sub-group C is with reference to the EAC.2 engine, and contains :- (1) The actual average representative curve of the automatic advance (of the R.R. Battery Ignition Governor) obtained on test. (2) Rough curve of advance made up from the data given in specification of performance of six-cylinder magneto for R.R. car, dated 27.5.24. (3) Advance curves of Eisemann magneto No.93267, belonging to special two-stroke cycle engine. Contd. | ||
