Biraben} X,8410 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/LG1.8.9.28. SPRINGING FOR AUSTRALIA. We agree that Pt. ought to try the Sports type spring before Australian cars are so sprung. Will you please let him have a pair suitable for his trials car. We think it is well worth while, as appearance counts so much with sales, and R.{Sir Henry Royce} is doing all he can to get lower cars. The previous 20% stiffer spring failed to give satisfaction as far as we can remember because it had the wrong buffer clearance. A partially loaded car sprung for 5.350" buffer clearance fully loaded looks very unsightly and we want to get away from it if we can.
