-2- am/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}3/MH.{M. Huckerby}18.2.38. WRAITH - CONT'D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} REMARKS. (3) PROBLEMS. (a) Engine Mounting. This is still being investigated in conjunction with the change speed mechanism to find the best form of torque control. (b) Tightening of Steering Pivots. Needle bearing pivots will be running on 27.G.VI by 24.2.38 and will also shortly be on the bump chassis. (c) Piston Scuffing. By reverting to the 25/30 piston and rings this is overcome. (d) Oil Consumption. Is receiving attention on the test bed. (e) 3rd. gear coming out of mesh. New parts will be running on 27.G.VI on 24.2.38. (f) Cold Starting. Experiments to find the best coil and distributor characteristics continue in the cold chamber. (4) REAR AXLE RATIO. The question of a higher ratio requires discussion. (5) PETROL FILLER. C. has asked for a filler in the wing on the first 100 cars but this presents great difficulties. BENTLEY. (1) 101 M SERIES ALTERATIONS. RMC. is asking for a release of the overdrive gearbox, 10/43 axle, girling rear brakes and improved camshaft. (2) 6.B.IV. Low speed wobbles have developed on 6.B.IV with worn tyres. Larger ball ends on the cross steering tube and more friction is being instructed to overcome this. | ||
