We give you below an extract from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}'s report on 1.B.IV after 5,000 miles under memo reference Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/MJ.16.10.33. In accordance with BY's instructions, will you please revert to the three grooves on the friction washer G.100369, cancelling alteration 17524. This applies to the Bentley car only, and not to the 20/25 h.p. washer G.51848. Extract of Report. PIVOT PINS G.101215/6. "The pivot pins have been short of lubrication, the bottom bearing is scored and was almost dry. The latest modifications had not been carried out, but the bottom thrust washer has only one groove instead of the standard three. The flow of oil through the filter was not sufficient. The bottom cap was free from oil leaks". BY/SS.{S. Smith} | ||
