To: Gry{Shadwell Grylls} c: Tln McF & Kgt JPB Tln/HPJ. 1.JB. 25.5.1964. Primary Vision Area of Windscreens I attended a Ad-Hoc S.M.M.T. meeting to discuss the primary vision area for windscreens on land transport on the 21st May, 1964. I spoke against the inclusion of a specified radius of curvature in the standard as it would be a limiting factor in body designs and did not take into account the rake angle of the windscreen. The new draft standard omitted reference to any radius indicating that the GLC/13 Committee had already considered the matter further and had decided that with the optical tests already proposed in the standard that it was unnecessary to specify any further radius limitations. Attached are the notes taken during this meeting together with the S.M.M.T. standard "eye position". Tln/HPJ | ||
