Re. Bentley chassis No.B.45.AE. - H.R.H. The Duke of Kent.

Mr.Archer has already discussed this complaint with us and we have supplied him with a new voltage regulator which will allow the battery to receive more charge.
We have pointed out to him that this regulator is not standard and until we have completed tests on 21.G.4 and 5.B.IV we are not sure how the dynamo will stand up to the increased loading on the cars.

Most of the trouble, we believe, is due to the fitting of radio sets which adds a considerable drain to the battery and customers who have fitted these sets to their cars must be informed of this fact very definitely, as it entirely upsets the dynamo, regulator and battery system as standardised.

We should be interested to know of specific cases where Bentley owners have complained of run down batteries under normal conditions without radio etc.

A new air cooled dynamo is instructed which will help us to deal with this increased radio load, using a larger regulator.
