want to be certain, as far as possible, that we are going
in the right direction.

We shall not hold up the Bentley and the P.III
any longer, and forthwith are building up the respective
units with the best we know of. We anticipate they will be
ready to start the test in about a month's time. We should
not be surprised if we had to run two or three more
Continental tests before we can finalise on bearings.

Our views at the moment are:-

RR.56 big ends; improved white metal mains, and better crank-
shaft oil distribution.
