X.3456 To Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to CJ. " " Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} " " Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " " Ck.{Mr Clark} X.3456. RE PRESSING FOR TOP TANK OR RADIATOR. Referring to your memo Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}24/W2.12.19, we thank you for sample pressing supplied by the Excelsior Motor Co. of Leeds. At the moment Mr. Royce seems no hope of making the tank successfully by pressing it in one piece. The sample is not entirely satisfactory, as none of the surfaces are flat and the edges vary. Mr. Royce thinks the sample may have been hand-worked after pressing to reach its present degree of finish. It was thought that it would be necessary to accept some change in the appearance of the radiator tank to make it successful by pressing instead of piecing. The matter at present is in abeyance until some suitable design can be prepared and perhaps a model submitted to the Sales Department. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
