Comments on Draught Report
dealing with the position of
work in hand for us by Park Ward.

On page (2) it states that completed drawings have been supplied for Myth. This is true from the point of view of sample bodies.

Is it necessary to mention that more fully detailed and dimensioned drawings will have to be made before press tools can be produced?

Regarding the shrinkage of jigs for B.V., this will have to be dealt with by Motor Panels who made them to suit their methods of manufacture.

The work that Park Ward has to do is :-

Repair wood model of body which has been damaged by Motor Panels in making the first sets of panels.

Make checking jigs in duplicate, so that further damage to wood model can be avoided and also to prevent distortion of panels through trying on wood model which is not suitable for this purpose, also to enable all the important pressings to be inspected and checked when delivered.

If the necessary jigs and information are not available to pass on to Motor Panels directly or before hostilities cease, it may mean that there will be several months unnecessary delay in obtaining pressings from them, as it will give Motor Panels an excuse for not getting into production at once. It is necessary that everyone concerned should understand that Motor Panels have uncompleted orders for body parts for several motor manufacturers besides S.S. Cars (who are their first consideration), and that they will use any excuse for not producing B.V. parts if Park Ward have not got everything ready.

From observation, I am of the opinion that the reason that the parts which were made were unsatisfactory, was due to their tools, jigs and fixtures not being completed, due to the amount of tool making they had in hand.
