V5690 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. c.c. BY/RD. EFC3/T15.1.26. VENTILATION OF DISTRIBUTOR - 20 HP. CHASSIS. X5690 X4357 Re The standardisation sheet we are putting through for the New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I for the better ventilation of the distributor head and device for the exclusion of crankchamber gases, would you please consider the items, viz. (1) Extra window in distributor moulding. (2) Hole for extra ventilation in base under contact breaker points, to take effect also on the 20 HP., so that the distributor base at any rate woll be the same piece as for the New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I. I understand from BY/RD. that we may consider that the 20 HP. distributor governor housing already embodies in its construction, as regards the exclusion of crankchamber gases, what may be considered to be an effective trap.
