the conclusions arrived at in the research department of the Institution of Automobile Engineers. It would be interesting to see if the replacement of the friction-servo by a non-rotating type of servo, for example a vacuum servo, or, alternatively, a simple leverage system, would result in the elimination of the squeaking trouble.

We are endeavouring to obtain a copy of the interesting report on Brake-Squeak which Mr. Martindale kindly loaned to the writer on his recent visit, and we will return your copy at the earliest opportunity.
