6 461,887 1 or claim 2 wherein the working fluid is delivered to a single turbine which provides the useful power and also drives the compressor. 5. A prime mover according to claim 1 or claim 2 wherein the working fluid is delivered to two or more turbines in succession, one or more of which provides useful work and the other or others drives the compressor. 6. A prime mover according to claim 1 or claim 2 wherein the working fluid is delivered to a turbine having two oppositely-rotating wheels, one delivering useful power and the other driving the compressor. 7. A prime mover of the type described wherein the compressor unit is of symmetrical construction comprising a central double-entry second-stage centrifugal compressor, a double-entry first-stage centrifugal compressor on each side of it and a driving turbine at each end of the assembly. 8. A prime mover according to claim 7 wherein the turbine discs are cooled by water-jackets disposed closely adjacent to their side faces. 9. A prime-mover of the type described comprising a compressor as set forth in my patent specification No. 14285 of 1935, a turbine or turbines driving said compressor and a useful power turbine mechanically independent of the compressor. 10.
