Herewith I send you a note Mac{Mr Macintosh}17/YG30.5.21, together with a letter from S.E.V., a French firm constructing magnetos. At the present rate of exchange, the price of frs.412 each, quoted for quantities of 250 magnetos, amounts in our currency to £8.15.3d., in addition to which I assume we should have to pay the Import Duty of 33-1/3%, bringing the total cost per magneto delivered in England to £11.13.8d. Certainly at this price the magnetos have no attraction for us, but I thought you would like to have an opportunity of perusing the letter and the blueprint accompanying same. If you are of my opinion that the offer has no interest for us, please return all the documents to me and I will write the people.
