Condition report on various frame, suspension, and steering components following dismantling.

FRAME & FITTINGS

FRAME CHANNELS.

On dismantling the chassis it was found that water had collected in the dip in the frame below the front suspension housings. A quantity of stones was also found inside the frame and battery box.

The flange has opened for a distance of opposite the front engine suspension brackets on the underside of both channels. The weld also appears to have yielded slightly just forward of the front suspension housing underneath the O.S. channel. See sketch attached.

FRONT ENGINE SUSPENSION

One of the front suspension rubbers was perished. N.S
in contact with exhaust

REAR ENGINE SUSPENSION

The rubber moulding in the suspension bracket has completely sheared through the centre section and has parted from the bracket flanges as shown by the attached sketch.

DASHBRACKETS & FOOTBOARDS

L.H. Angle rest E.86898 broken away from dashboard. Otherwise in good condition.

STEERING COLUMN & BOX.

General condition good. Slight wear and scoring has taken place on bottom roller bearing track of cam.

Small indents are noticeable on the cam faces. Very slight wear has taken place on the cam roller faces. The rocking shaft has been fouling slightly inside the box, L.H. half, and there is slight scoring on the roller bearing tracks. The roller bearings are in very good condition. arm had excessive lubrication through pendulum

The steering box support sleeve F.87103 is badly stained with rust on the portion inside the frame channel.

PETROL TANK

Condition good except for dent in the top on the offside.

SPRING SUSPENSION MECHANISM

With the exception of the failure of the main lever in the offside unit, the condition of both units is good.

It was observed that the outer spring has been bearing on the walls of the housing and a certain amount of wear has resulted.
