ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To: EFC Order No.: AE. 90. Customer's No.: X4008 Resistance for 20 hp Dynamo Controller. Following Mr Royce's note R2/M186-27 suggesting that the reduction in output effected by a dynamo controller should be greater than we had hitherto arranged, tests have been carried out using some 22 SWG Eureka wire in place of the ballast resistances previously used. It was first intended to employ sufficient resistance to prevent the occurrence of over-voltage on the dynamo in case of a break in the charging circuit. As a preliminary the resistances of the Ridgley controller (17.0w) was put in the field circuit of a standard dynamo (No 600A) which was at an intermediate (Cont-d) This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
