S/W. (Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}). Copies to: Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY .HM.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} REDUCTION OF TOOL KITS CARRIED ON CAR. H5/LH{Mr Haworth}18.4.29 BY9/M19.4.29. 1. The Sales Conference is anxious to re-open the matter of tools to be carried on both the Phantom and the 20 h.p. 2. A perusal of the correspondence of 1926 and 1927 between S. and W. show that agreement was reached, that (a) no reduction (except that mentioned in BY8/H25.2.27) should be made in the amount of kit supplied. (b) a large part of the kit could be supplied in a special box to be kept at the home garage or taken on extended tours and only certain handy tools need be permanently carried on the car. 3. We believe the matter was hung up at this point in order to test whether the list of handy tools was adequate by carrying only such tools on experimental cars in France. 4. R.{Sir Henry Royce} has recently revised the matter and as we believe you are satisfied of the feasibility of the idea, we should like to get it into practice. We propose for the Phantom to take the list of tools to be carried which is given in Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/FG1/H25.1.27, and add to it certain items. This list will then read as follows: Jack and handle. Mallet. Wheel spanner. Bonnet keys. Inspection lamp. Large adjustable spanner. Small " " Screwdriver. Plug, spanner and tommy bar. Spare plugs. Feeler gauges. | ||
